Interactive S2S workshop at ISMA 2018

September, 2018

During the ISMA 2018 conference, an interactive S2S workshop will be organized for researchers who are mobile between different sectors (industry, research organization and/or university). This interactive workshop aims at gathering and sharing experiences, bottlenecks and best practices between mobile PhD researchers in all phases of their project (start, middle, end).

Workshop und Diskussion zum TU Darmstadt Open Innovation Marketplace

In the framework of the EU funded project Science2Society, the TU Darmstadt Open Innovation marketplace is being developed. In this workshop we will show you what the marketplace is about and how it works. Furthermore, we want to receive your opinion on the marketplace and discuss with you about further possibilities to find research partners and to exploit your ideas.

Expert Talk at Bosch Engineering Center in Austria

On the 17th of May a group of dedicated innovation practitioners met at Bosch Engineering Center in Linz, Austria. Large companies like Bosch and Fronius were also present as well as high-tec SMEs like Tecpond. The focus of this Science2Society outreach activity was to discuss current good practices for Technology- and Innovation Management and what approaches work most efficient to transfer such knowledge from academia to industry. “Knowledge transfer” is one of the seven interaction mechanisms Science2Society is focusing on in it piloting activities.

WORKSHOP REPORT ‘Mejorando la transferencia de tecnología en Europa’ - Available!

Last 8 of June 2018 was held at the UPC, the Barcelona Science2Society local workshop.

The UPC Vice-rector for Knowledge Transfer and Innovation, Jordi Berenguer, welcomed the attendants, and introduced some facts and figures about the knowledge transfer activities developed by the UPC. Juan Pérez, European Projects Manager at CIT UPC, introduced the Science2Society project to the audience.

Josep M. Piqué, President of IASP, introduced success factors in technology transfer with some examples.

S2S in UIIC 2018

June, 2018

S2S representatives attended the University-Industry Interaction Conference in London on 20-22 June 2018. During the conferece the posters "How can research waste be minimized in industrial co-located teams?" and  " How can design-thinking connect European research to business?" were presented, and a brief description of the project was included in the conference website. 

Workshop on June 8: Improving Technology Transfer in Europe (in Spanish)

On June 8, the Center for Innovation and Technology of UPC (CIT UPC) will host a workshop on 'Improving technology transfer in Europe', within the framework of the Science2Society (S2S) project. The objective of the event is to provide a space for debate and exchanging experiences in technology transfer, through the pilot projects that are being developed in S2S.

Science2Society also works in the optimisation process of building international collaborative R&D initiatives. We feel that, presently, the combined effort to submit such bids (like the typical H2020 Research and Innovation Action 70 page proposals) is increasingly difficult to fit into the working schedule of R&D professionals in academia and industry.

5th Science2Society-Meeting: engaging with multi-stakeholder groups

The 5th face-to-face Science2Society-project Meeting took place in Vienna (Austria) from 19 to 20 April, 2018.

After a quick review of the status of the 7 Pilots, the focus of the meeting was how to disseminate the S2S findings at large. The 7 Pilots represent important Interactions Mechanisms between University and Industry, for how to create new business and improve innovation systems across Europe.
